DJ Raphael was the perfect choice for our wedding music.  When we contacted him originally, he was quick to respond and open to anything we had in mind. When we told him our likes and dislikes, he sent us a list of hundreds of songs to chose from and he reassured us that our day would be amazing. He was in charge of our wedding ceremony and reception music and we were not disappointed! Raphael took time to come to our venue the night before the wedding so that everything would run smoothly the next day and stayed through the rehearsal in case there were any questions or concerns. The following day, our ceremony music and cocktail hour were amazing! Unfortunately, before the reception officially started, we had a storm and lost power. Raphael never panicked or had us worried. He improvised and with the help of family and friends, we had sound back within the hour for our reception. He played requests from friends and family and helped make announcements so the photographer could direct individuals of where to go. I don’t think there was a foot of the dance floor free by the end of the night!   If you are looking for a DJ for any event you may have, DJ Raphael is the way to go. I will never forget dancing at my wedding and all the memories I have thanks to him! Thanks again Raphael!

Raphael was the DJ for our wedding reception this past weekend at Origins Cafe in Cooperstown and he did a fantastic job! He was very helpful in creating a layout for the reception and was open to any suggestions we had. He also did all of the evenings’ announcements and was flexible to anything we wanted to edit. He used purple uplighting that gave the dance area a very cool look. All of our family and friends loved the music. We had a big Indian crowd at the reception who requested many unfamiliar songs; Ralph was more than happy to find the songs for them. He played a great blend of songs that had young and older guests dancing all night! We definitely recommend DJ Raphael for any event in the Cooperstown area!

We wanted the aesthetic of having much of our reception music on vinyl and were thrilled to have Raphael DJ our wedding at the Farmers’ Museum last September. It was a load off our stressed minds knowing the music was in his capable hands. He professionally executed all the details from setup to breakdown- including our various announcements and entrances- but retained a personal touch. If there was a glitch or anything went wrong, we never knew about it. We and our guests had a fantastic time; he knows how to read a diverse crowd and keep them grooving all night.

Ralph has been my favorite DJ since I moved to Cooperstown. He is upbeat and plays music that people want to hear. He is also not afraid to interact with the audience and not in a dorky way like most DJ’s do.
The best is when he takes requested songs and re-mixes them on the fly, It really shows a true DJ’s talent when they can do this and make it sound awesome. He has done several dances that I have sponsored and also the annual Fashion Show. He has an awesome array of lights that turn any gloomy space into a killer dance party!

Raphael DJ’d our wedding, and he was marvelous! We hosted over a hundred guests in a large hall and his music selections set the mood perfectly throughout the evening. There was warm, festive music during dinner to accompany our frantic wolf-down-food-and-then-make-the-rounds phase, and it was just the right volume to accommodate conversation and merriment.
Throughout the toasts and scheduled dances he proved a capable emcee, never imposing himself on the festivities but simply facilitating so that everything went smoothly.
And then it came time for dancing and his talent really shined. He deftly orchestrated a variety of music that inspired shy middle schoolers, reluctant parents, and less-than-mobile grandparents to take part in the dance floor fun. He seemed to not only be reading the crowd, but anticipating the ebb and flow of the party, so there was always a great song coming when you wanted to dance and a slight lull when you wanted to take a break. He accommodated our wishes and mid-party guest requests with aplomb, and weaved them all together to create a truly excellent accompaniment to our special day.
As you’ve no doubt deduced by now, we can’t recommend Ralph highly enough. And judging from these other testimonials, our experience was par for the course. We’re so grateful to Ralph for his awesome performance, and if you hire him, you will be too.

We hire Ralph to DJ all of our High School Student Council events. He is, no doubt, the best DJ around! He never has those awkward dance moments where no one is on the dance floor like you often see at other high school dances.

We hired Ralph for our wedding and he rocked it! Everyone was out on the floor the entire night and loved that he promptly played requests (no matter how random). Ralph was so great to work with, showed up early to set up and partied with us until way past the time we contracted him for. We hired Ralph to be the DJ at our wedding, and he was awesome. Our friends are mostly club kids from Boston who are pretty picky about music, and Ralph knew just what to play to get them out on the floor. Not only did he cater to our friends’ tastes, but he mixed it up enough that the crowd on the dance floor ranged from little kids to my grandmother(!). Even my non-dancing parents agreed he was a fantastic DJ. We had a blast–I think my husband barely left the dance floor during the reception! My husband joked that it seemed like Ralph could read our minds, since he played all the songs we love. (We didn’t even give him a list or anything; the only song we told him to play was “our” song at one point.)
In addition to the kickin’ music for dancing, Ralph did a great job picking out music earlier in the night. The background music as people were arriving and milling around before the ceremony was perfect, and the songs he played during dinner were interesting but didn’t overwhelm conversation.
We chose Ralph because we’d heard him DJ another wedding; in addition to the music having been great there, after meeting Ralph, my husband had decided that he was the coolest person at that wedding. So not only is he a great DJ, but a really cool guy.  I TOTALLY recommend him as a great DJ for a wedding or any other event.
